BATELEURS - FLYING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

Our ability to carry out a flight request is dependant on pilot availability. The Bateleurs rely on volunteer pilots to do most of our flying. These men and woman not only donate their time and expertise, but also contribute the operating costs of the aircraft. Depending on the aircraft, this can be in the region of R500.00 per hour. Out of consideration to these dedicated volunteers, we ask you to work with us to accomodate their schedules.

Fuel share request:
The Bateleurs do not charge for any flights. We do, however, ask our partners to make a donation to enable us to reimburse our pilots for their fuel costs.

The Bateleurs cannot do any transportation flights. All Bateleur flights should ideally start and end at the same place. There are occasional exceptions to this which can be discussed with the committee.

Contacting Pilots:
All flight requests are to be directed to Executive Committee of The Bateleurs by way of a duly completed flight request form and not to individual Bateleur pilots who are not members of the Executive Committee. You agree, by your signature hereunder, not to approach Bateleur pilots for the purpose of making a flight request unless they are also members of the Executive Committee or unless so authorised by the Executive Committee.

Please submit this form by hand, fax or post as soon as possible. Please feel free to include any background information, which would help us better understand your request. All flight requests are brought before the committee. After we have reviewed the information, we will contact you to discuss your request.
